Complaints

M/Y CREW AGENCY aims to provide the very highest of standards in Super Yacht Crew Recruitment at all times however, should a complaint arise we will provide you with the ability to speak to us about any privacy concerns and issues.

If you have a complaint or query about our Company or our processes and procedures, please email us stating your concerns at info@mycrewagency.com

On receipt of your complaint:

  • We will issue you a letter or email acknowledging your complaint and/or query and confirming it's receipt;

  • We will endeavour to reply immediately however, you should expect to receive this confirmation within 7 working days of us receiving your complaint.

We will then proceed to record your complaint and start to investigate the stated concern on your behalf.
This process will include the following steps:

  • Audit your records to understand the sequence of relevant events where applicable;

  • Asking the member(s) of our staff who dealt with you to provide a written response in direct relation to the complain or query.

A full, detailed response to your complaint will be drafted by the individual responsible for dealing with your file. If appropriate and necessary, we may wish to discuss the events surrounding your complaint directly with you via phone, email, social media or any other form that is appropriate.

We will aim to acknowledge, investigate and resolve all complaints within 21 working days of receipt.

Please note that M/Y CREW AGENCY reserves the right to change or amend this procedure without prior notice.

Any candidates registering with or sending any form of documentation to M/Y CREW AGENCY acknowledge and agree that all information provided is both accurate, current and correct.
 
Candidates registering on this website accept that M/Y CREW AGENCY reserves the right to terminate all business relations with anyone that is found to provide us with misleading, embellished or false information.
 
Any personal data including but not limited to CV's, Cover Letters, References and any other information provided by the candidate through this website or via email or social media is subject to M/Y CREW AGENCY's Privacy Policy. 

By registering, sending personal data and using this website the crew member agrees to M/Y CREW AGENCY collecting, storing, holding and accessing their personal data and forwarding on to prospective employers.
 
We will NOT use your personal information for any purpose unrelated to the services we provide, or for any purpose or activity for which you would not reasonably expect us to use the information. We do not sell, rent or lease our customer information to third parties.
 
Candidates that register on this website authorize M/Y CREW AGENCY to contact referees for a reference check where necessary.
 
The candidate is responsible for informing M/Y CREW AGENCY immediately of any correspondence, interviews or successful placements acquired as a direct result of M/Y CREW AGENCY providing their CV and or personal data to an employer on their behalf.
 

 

Fair Treatment of Seafarers

Fair treatment of seafarers policy

M/Y Crew Agency’s Fair Treatment of Seafarers Policy is to effectively promote and protect the employment rights of each and every Seafarer in which we engage.

In accordance with the MLC 2006 code, M/Y Crew Agency implement a range of processes and procedures to promote the fair treatment of all Seafarers who seek employment through us which includes, but is not limited to:

Interviewing: Interviewing each candidate who registers with our agency or applies for a specific position with the same care, due regard and attention, regardless of their age, gender, nationality, race or sexual orientation.

Personal Data: All Personal Data passed to M/Y Crew Agency by a seafarer or candidate is treated with strict confidentiality. All Seafarer Personal Data is stored on a password protected data storage software to ensure the highest levels of security and in addition, we do not pass on any Seafarer Personal Data to any third parties including our partners unless specifically requested by the Seafarer directly and in writing.

Blacklists: M/Y Crew Agency do not form blacklists, means nor mechanisms designed or created to directly or indirectly prevent Seafarers from gaining employment for which they are suitably qualified.

Cost of employment to Seafarers: M/Y Crew Agency ensures that no cost, remuneration or other form of advantage from registered or potential candidates is exchanged. In accordance with and as per MLC 2006 convention code, seafarers in every instance have fair access to a system in which to find employment on board ships without charge to the Seafarer.

Basic mandatory qualification requirements: Each candidate is expected to fund their own qualifications to deem them employable relative to the position they are applying for. However, the basic mandatory qualifications to gain employment on a ship are STCW10, ENG1 and Security Awareness.

Minimum age restriction: We do not place any candidate on any Yacht who is below 18 years of age.

Procedures

Reference Checks: To ensure that seafarers recruited or placed by M/Y Crew Agency are suitably qualified for the job being applied for and undertake confidential reference checks to provide assurance to the Employer.

Recruitment and Placement records: We maintain an up-to-date record of all Seafarers recruited or placed through us.

Seafarer Employment Agreements (SEA): M/Y Crew Agency will ensure that the Employers Seafarers Employment Agreements (SEA’s) are in accordance with flag state laws and regulations, as is any Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA) that forms part of the employment agreement.

Seafarers rights and duties: Inform Seafarers of their rights and duties under their employment agreements prior to engagement.
